Fairfax County Regional Science and Engineering Fair

Last weekend, six hundred and eight students competed at the Fairfax County Regional Science and Engineering Fair with over four hundred projects. Seventeen of our students proudly represented I.S.A. at the Fair and did a wonderful job. Many of our students received recognition for their hard work and excellent projects.

Organizational Awards were given to the following students:

• Sara Almousa and Noha Sherif by the American Society of Naval Engineers- They received a one-year student membership in the American Society of Naval Engineers and a plaque. Sara and Noha also received an honorable mention certificate from the Analytical Services, Inc.

• Sagah Ahmed received an honorable mention certificate from the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office.

• Ahmed Aly and Muhammad Kandil received a certificate of merit from the Virginia Dental Association.

Category Awards were given to the following students:

• Saad Sakaji, Ahmed Aly, Muhammad Kandil, Ahmad Garada, Abduljabar Totonji from the boys’ school, and Sagah Ahmed, Sara Assaf, and Mariam Zaidan from the girls’ school were all recipients of honorable mention awards.

• Sara Almousa, Noha Sherif, Amjaad Al-Hussain, and Jana Nusairat from the girls’ school received 2nd place awards.

We are very proud of all our contestants and hope to see further achievements in the future!
