ISA’s Model UN Excels 2006

On the weekend of December 9 and 10, ISA participated in the Model UN competition held at C. D. Hylton High School. Over 800 students and 24 schools competed.
ISA’s Model UN won more awards than ever before.  36 students participated and 20 received some type of award or recognition. 

ISA won 2nd place Director-General’s Award for Large Schools
We also received the Research Award.

The following students received awards or recognition:

(1ST PLACE): BEST DELEGATION AWARD
Reem Alhussain  and Somayyah Ghariani--represented Germany on the World Health Organization committee;
Heba Tellai and Esraa Yacout--represented Venezuela on the OPEC committee;

(2ND PLACE): OUTSTANDING AWARD
Ashraf Abed and Ahmed Aziz--represented Venezuela on the Organization of American States committee;
Dalia Deak and Dana Alsaadi--represented Germany on the European Union committee;
Hassanah Tullah El-Yacoubi and Amna Ali represented Venezuela on the Social, Cultural, and Humanitarian committee;
Tamara Abdelsamad and Saba Sadeq--represented Germany on the Disarmament and International Security committee;

(3RD PLACE): HONORABLE MENTION
Norah Algarzae and Jenan Sharrofna--represented Turkey on the World Health Organization committee;
Yusra Altiraifi and Youmna El-Sherif--represented China on the ASIA-PAC committee;

(4TH PLACE): VERBAL COMMENDATIONS
Noor Abutaah and Hala Nasher--represented the UAE on the Disarmanent and International Security committee;
Nada Raoof and Zenit Chughtai--represented the UAE on the OPEC committee.
